Ride the Buckeye Rails

Tuesday-Thursday

June 4-6

Day One

Check into our hotel the Quaker Square Inn at the

University of Akron, considered one of the most unique hotel complexes in the United States. Dinner tonight will be included at the Trackside Grill within the hotel. This unique restaurant is built in and around the authentic, original Broadway Limited Railroad Cars, that ran in 1938, from

Chicago to New York City. Enjoy dinner surrounded by

hundreds of antiques and railroad memorabilia of a bygone era when the mighty Steam Engine was King of the Road.

Day Two

After breakfast (included) at the hotel we will depart for the Dennison Depot Museum . This houses a WWII museum, railroad gift shop, as well as the restaurant. This is where you will find out why they called it “Dreamsville” during

WWII. Our next stop will be at Warther Carvings where we will have a Hobo lunch (included) at the Gazebo, in the lower parking lot, by the caboose. We will also take a ride on the Canton Akron Flyer. Travel the urban countryside between the cities of Akron and Canton by rail, just as they did when the tracks were originally built in 1880. Dinner tonight (included) will be at the Pufferbelly Restaurant.

Located in nearby Kent, this historical building was

constructed in 1875, serving as the main train depot within the area. Today, many people come to dine in the comfort of a former train station.
